where the Tarpenbek flows into the Alster, there is a beautiful little temple. Nice view over the Alster-Streek. Here, the architectural concept of Fritz Schumacher is quite clear, which provided at the time for the design of the lower Alsterlaufs (the Streek) a strictly architectural version by embankment walls, terraces and basins. His design was not uncontroversial at that time, but prevailed.

The origin of the Tarpenbek is in Norderstedt. From there it flows leisurely through the Hamburg districts of Langenhorn, Niendorf, Groß Borstel and Eppendorf and flows into the Alster via the Eppendorfer Mühlenteich. With a length of 21 kilometers, the Tarpenbek still feeds the longest green belt in the north-west of the city.
