People come to Etretat for the sea and the cliffs. The tourists, with cameras around their necks, have made this fishing village a world famous place, but they also spoil the atmosphere on the busiest days. Still, the place keeps its charm; the spectacle of the cliffs at sunset is so grandiose that everyone should see it once in their life.

Étretat is a place that retains its own magic despite the tourist hustle and bustle. The imposing rocky cliffs and the roaring sea attract numerous visitors every year. The whole spectacle unfolds especially at sunset: the three rock gates - Porte d'Aval with the Aiguille, Manneporte and Porte d'Amont - glow in the warm light of the setting sun and cast long shadows on the pebble beach. This sight is unforgettable and shows why Étretat has inspired artists and hikers alike for centuries.

Étretat on the Alabaster coast has probably the most famous chalk cliffs of Normandy. The sometimes bizarre rock formations of the cliffs form here three large rock gates, the Porte d'Aval with the Aiguille, the Manne Porte and the Porte d'Amont.
