From the Poenari Citadel, life in the Arges Valley is exceptional.
The tour is conducted in groups at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
Please note: you must be in good physical condition to access it, as there are 1,480 steps to climb.
You'll also be walking through a fully electrified area to protect the bears that proliferate in the region. The Romanian Forestry Office estimates that there are 112 bears in the Arefu sector, while no more than 25 should be in this area. Remember, these are wild animals.
