On the site of the Gesztes Castle, south of the present-day village of Várgesztes, one of the hunting castles of the Vértes Mountains stood for the first time. towards the end of the 19th century it could serve as a fortified castle.
The castle consisted of two parts: an outer castle wall and an adjoining square tower and an inner castle and a castle courtyard between the outer castle wall and the inner castle.
