The Vechtesee is located in the Nordhorn city area. There are numerous recreational options, such as renting pedal boats on the Vechte See from May to October, or exploring the area with the excursion boats "Vechtestromer" or "Vechtesonne".

You can also just cycle past it and enjoy the view over the water.

The Vechtesee is located very close to the city center of Nordhorn. It acts as a buffer reservoir to protect Nordhorn from flooding. It also serves as a local recreation area with very good restaurants. There are many opportunities for leisure activities here, such as sailing, surfing or a hike or bike tour around the beautiful Vechtesee. You can rent pedal boats and rowing boats from a boat rental company and use them to explore the city center of Nordhorn, for example.
Excursion boats also offer tours through the city center of Nordhorn on the Vechte, which branches off here.
