The Vechtesee is located in the Nordhorn city area. There are numerous recreational options, such as renting pedal boats on the Vechte See from May to October, or exploring the area with the excursion boats "Vechtestromer" or "Vechtesonne".

You can also just cycle past it and enjoy the view over the water.

Lake Vechte is located in the immediate vicinity of Nordhorn's city center. It acts as a buffer reservoir, protecting Nordhorn from flooding. It also serves as a local recreation area with excellent restaurants. There are many recreational opportunities here, such as sailing, surfing, or hiking or cycling around the beautiful Vechte Lake. Pedal boats and rowboats are available for rent at a boat rental shop, allowing you to explore Nordhorn's city center, for example.

Tour boats also offer tours through Nordhorn's city center along the Vechte River, which branches off here.
