The Tulla Tower stands on the site of Breisach's old secular power center. It has been somewhat built into the festival grounds. Unfortunately, this doesn't give it the attention it deserves. All that remains of the former castle, which was later converted into a palace, is the plateau and the moat.

The Tulla Tower can only be visited at certain times. It is located at the open-air stage. When we were there, a rehearsal was taking place. That's why we couldn't go straight there.
In the middle of the castle square, where Breisach Castle stood from the 12th to the 18th century, is the Tulla Tower, built in 1874. It is an observation tower and the central monument of the Baden Rhine communities for the "tamer of the wild Rhine", Johann Gottfried Tulla (1770-1828).
