Stadtoldendorf is known for the Homburg, a formerly mighty hilltop castle (10th century) north of the city on the Great Homburg (406m). The city itself still shows elements of earlier fortifications such as the striking medieval Försterberg tower (the hill there offers a great view of the city and the surrounding area!) And remains of the city wall with the Hagentor. The center around the market square with the Wilhelm Raabe House is also beautiful.

The landmark of Stadtoldendorf, the Försterberg tower, perched on a small hill above the city and can be seen from anywhere. However, you can only visit it by prior arrangement or as part of a city tour. The small town also awaits you with its historic half-timbered houses on the market square.
