    At the extreme end of the Finistère stands the statue of Our Lady of the Shipwrecked. It was made of Carrara marble by Cyprian Godebski in 1903. With the child in her arms, she turns to a shipwrecked man crouching at her feet.

    Notre-Dame des Naufragés is a sculpture by Cyprien Godebski made in 1904 and located at the Pointe du Raz in Plogoff (Finistère), on land granted free of charge by an inhabitant of the parish of Plogoff, Mr. Yves Kersaudy, residing in Lescoff. The Maritime Prefecture of Brest had granted its authorization on April 8, 1901. The statue was put in place on Saturday June 19, 1904. (Wikipedia)
