Although there are two previous waterfalls along the Skógá that are definitely worth seeing, Fremri-Fellsfoss is considered the first of the dozens of waterfalls along the Laugavegur to be considered a high-quality waterfall. If you don't have the time to hike to the larger waterfalls upstream, it is highly recommended to get at least this far past Skógafoss.

The Skógá is a river that originates from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The river flows downwards, creating numerous waterfalls along the way, including the famous Skógafoss. This waterfall is one of the largest and most visited waterfalls in Iceland, dropping 62 meters from the cliffs at Skógar. The Skógá River offers a beautiful hiking trail that takes visitors past this and other waterfalls, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers.
