On November 22, 1944, the den was surrounded by the German Sicherheitsdienst and four gang members were arrested and deported. One of them returned. In 1994 the municipality of Diever restored this hiding place to its original state during a second restoration. In the den you can see the bag rack (for the escape bag) and the underground bicycle shed.

During World War II, people in hiding stayed in this secret hideout until betrayal put an end to it. The hiding place, called "the wigwam," was restored in 1954 and 1994 due to the large number of people visiting.
