Anyone who needs a short break can take a breather here with a view of the Wadden Sea. Before the Hindenburg Dam was built, ferries with bathers docked in Munkmarsch harbor. Today, the harbor is only home to a few small private sailing ships and motor yachts.

The old ferry port, hikes and culinary delights are the representatives of a holiday in Munkmarsch. In addition to cozy farmhouses, you will find the old ferry port here. Between the marshland and the Wadden Sea, walkers in particular get their money's worth around Munkmarsch. In the Middle Ages, the fertile landscape near Munkmarsch belonged to a monastery. Hence the name Munkmarsch, which can be translated as "monk's march". It was first mentioned in 1422 and belonged to Ribe Monastery. Today you can take long walks through this vast marshland.
