The old castle in Sugenheim, on the outskirts of Sugenheim in Middle Franconia, was first mentioned in 1376. After its destruction in 1525, it was rebuilt in the same place in the years 1525-29.

The toy museum in the old castle Sugenheim (a private museum owned by the Kube family) celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013, it was opened on Easter 1988, then in 4 rooms. Today the toy museum is housed in 12 rooms of the old castle in Sugenheim and shows in its permanent exhibition over 2500 dolls and toys of all kinds from the middle of the 18th century to the 1960s.
