The old castle in Sugenheim, on the outskirts of Sugenheim in Middle Franconia, was first mentioned in 1376. After its destruction in 1525, it was rebuilt in the same place in the years 1525-29.

The Toy Museum in the Old Castle Sugenheim (a private museum owned by Jan and Manuela Kube) celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013. It was opened in Easter 1988, at that time in four rooms, today in twelve rooms of the old castle in Sugenheim. It shows in its permanent exhibition over 2,500 dolls and toys of all kinds from the mid-18th century to the 1960s.

The Old Castle itself was brought back to life by Jan and Manuela Kube from the ruinous 149-year-old Sleeping Beauty sleep with a comprehensive historic renovation from 1981 to 1983.

Today the toy museum is housed in 12 rooms of the old castle in Sugenheim and shows in its permanent exhibition over 2500 dolls and toys of all kinds from the middle of the 18th century to the 1960s.
