At 852 feet (260 m) high, Coombe Hill is the highest point of the Chiltern Hills. On clear days, you can see as far as the Cotswolds from the hill as well as over the Aylesbury Vale. There is a monument at the top of the hill for those who lost their lives in the Boer War. The former owners of the 42 hectares (106 acres) surrounding the hill, Lord and Lady Lee of Fareham, gave the land to the National Trust in 1918.
