Once we have reached the upper station of the funicular, we can enjoy the view over the city and the Elbe valley from the terrace of the Luisenhof restaurant opposite when it is open. It is not without reason that the Luisenhof is also called the “Balcony of Dresden”.

At the end of the street (Bergbahnstraße 12) there is also Villa San Remo. The extravagant villa building was built in 1885 in the Neo-Renaissance style and is a listed building. Between 1938 and 1945 it was the residence of the German-American business family Noble, developers of the “Praktiflex” SLR camera.
