The building, which is leaning against the former city wall, was renovated by the citizens of Bretten themselves between 1991 and 1994 and now serves as a craft museum. In addition to the tanner's museum with tanners' equipment and tools, the tanner's house also houses a saddler and shoemaker's workshop with historical footwear. The restored living spaces from the 16th and 18th centuries are also interesting.
