Almost 7 km underwater. You don't experience something like that every day. It can be tiring on a bike if you've brought too much luggage. The air inside isn't so good, but it's manageable. You should always have good lighting because there's a lot of traffic in the tunnel.

On the way to the North Cape no path leads past this tunnel. The tunnel is almost 7 km long and goes down to -212m below sea level. The first 3.4 km is about 9% downhill and the last 3.4 km it is again a good 9% uphill. So turn on the lights! Otherwise, do not let the cars and buses stop you and fight your way up. Have fun!

I recommend to cycle the tunnel during night. We came from South & entered the tunnel at 0145. Had only 3 vehicles, 1 car & 1 truck from the front, 1 car from behind. Quite comfortable😊.
As you leave the tunnel at the North portal, there is a public toilet with WCs & water.
It's also possible to pitch your tent there.
