The Eifelverein Dahlem obviously maintains the wayside and memorial crosses and has attached small explanatory text boards there. Here it says: "This cross commemorates the death of the Dahlem citizen Heinrich Küpper, who is said to have died in a fire in 1845." However, the photos stored on komoot for this highlight show two different wooden crosses that are not too far apart (less than a hundred meters) from each other: This memorial cross for Heinrich Küpper (wooden cross with a large body) and another (wooden cross with a comparatively small body) , which commemorates the imperial Rittmeister Franziskus Volle.
