Great for cycling, as the well-developed bike paths lead through the park in the shade of the trees past lovely lakes. But be careful when planning the route: The park can only be cycled anti-clockwise, it is a one-way cycle.

Prospect Park is a beautiful ride. I recently went bird watching there and saw a rare site, the Prothonotary Warbler. Prospect Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who also helped design Manhattan's Central Park. Prospect Park opened in 1867. It is also home to some historic and rare trees. It's very bike-friendly.
