The parking lot at Jacobsweg is a good starting point for tours in the area with the possibility of finding out more at the information point.

The western part of the transnational Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve runs along the High Elbe Riverbank between Tesperhude and Lauenburg. Steep, wooded slopes with numerous incisions and V-shaped valleys characterize the landscape and offer magnificent views of the great river from the beautiful hiking and cycling trails. Regularly flooded alluvial forests along the riverbanks are home to beavers, who have once again made themselves at home here.
