The smaller Wildschweingehege and the beer garden on the Kehr are in the immediate vicinity and also the hunting lodge and the Bismarckturm are only a few hundred meters away.

This enclosure offers opportunities to observe the diurnal fallow deer. At different times of the year it offers changing sights. The antlers are shed from the end of April to the beginning of May. A short time later, a new horn appears under a fur-like skin - the bast. 3 months later the bast is swept off, it hangs from the antlers in tatters and the bare bone comes out. The rut in October is acoustically impressive. Especially at night the rutting screams, a long drawn out dull belch, can be heard from far away.
