The Schnoor or the Schnoorviertel with its small streets is one of the most famous sights in Bremen. It now consists mostly of small shops and cafes. It is very close to Bremen's market square and is the oldest quarter in the city.

The Schnoor - also called the Schnoorviertel (from Low German Schnoor, Snoor = string) - is a passageway district in the old town of Bremen that dates back to the High Middle Ages and is also the name of the street Schnoor in this district. The oldest secular buildings date from the early 15th century, the Church of St. John was built in the late 14th century. The quarter, which was largely spared during the Second World War, was preserved in the 1950s against demolition plans and is now one of the most important tourist attractions.
