There are lots of shoes right on the quay; big, small, old shoes, smart boots and children's shoes, which are an installation that commemorates the (up to 10,000) Jews who had to line up in long rows and were shot by the Arrow Cross Party or driven into the Danube.

On a length of 40 m shoes are attached to the Danube bank, which commemorates the 2000 to over 3000 murdered Jews by the Arrow Cross. She was then rounded up on the Danube and shot. The monument was built in 2005.

Sixty pairs of shoes commemorate the horrors of war that took place on the Danube embankment in Budapest, Hungary, where in 1944 and 1945 fascist Arrow Cross militiamen shot thousands of Jews into the water. Before being shot, the victims were forced to remove their shoes, which were a valuable commodity during the war.
