In the period from December 16, 1944 to March 29, 1945, about 400 V1s were fired from this spot in the direction of Antwerp. Eleven days before the liberation (Monday, April 9) of Lettele and Okkenbroek, the Germans blew up the runway.

Consequential damage from prematurely detonated missiles can still be seen on the Oostermaet estate south-west of this launch facility.

At the highlight there is a reconstruction of the foundation and an information board with background information. The location is right next to the road and is directly accessible.

In the forest are still the foundations of a V1 launch pad. This platform was used to launch V1 rockets. Given its location and position, this platform will have been used to launch V1 rockets towards Antwerp in the winter of 1944.
