The moated castle was once the seat of the local nobility, the Lords of Snait, and was renovated after 1548 in the Renaissance style by Ludwig Schertlin von Burtenbach. Today it is used by the Ecumenical Social Welfare Station Heidenheim and the local associations.

Directly on the Brenz lies the "Jagdschlössle", often just called "Schlössle", a building formerly inhabited by noble hunters,[2] which is currently used by the Schnaitheim 1864 Singers' Association and the ecumenical social center. Just a few hundred meters away is the Schnaitheim mill with its mill wheel, which has, however, been out of operation for several years. The concrete bridge over the Brenz, built in 1954, is decorated with two bronze figures which the artist Horst Solf called "Begegnung", donated on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the incorporation of the town.
