Over the years, scattered factory buildings have shaped the Luckenwalder townscape. So the city administration decided in the twenties to remedy this deficiency in urban development by creating modern buildings, horticultural facilities and much more.

The aim should be to bring relief to the working people, to make the apartments friendlier and to provide the necessary rest and relaxation. The settlement buildings "Auf dem Sande", the "Volksheimsiedlung" in Jänickendorferstrasse and Gottower Strasse and the settlement "Am Anger" are witnesses of this.

Yürüyüş

In the mid-1950s, the Angerteich, which gave the settlement its name, dried up. A green space was created in its place. If you come through the archway into the settlement and then immediately take the path to the right and leave the settlement again, after about 50 m you will see a picture from the 1920s on a wall, on which the pond can still be seen.
