The former mountain garden of Meiningen merchant Reinhold Goetz is more or less hidden. There are a number of interesting "castle style" ruins here. The garden was built around 1915 and the Goetz Cave was discovered here.

The Meiningen merchant Reinhold Goetz had been busy designing a mountain garden there for years, in keeping with the romantic taste of the time, with large terraces, viewpoints and an artificial castle ruin.
While mining rocks in August 1915, he came across a larger opening in the shell limestone of the Dietrichsberg.
He examined it, went further into the mountain and found that the opening led to a crevice running parallel to the mountain slope, today's main crevice 2.
