Four late Gothic sandstone blocks from the 17th and 18th centuries in wooden arbors with a tent roof are being used as so-called top chapels. Century. Today, within the village, they used to stand at the four exits from Eggolsheim (Neuses, Schirnaidel, Kauernhofen, Forchheim). Every year during the large corridor of the parish on the Sunday after Corpus Christi, the top chapels serve as sacramental altars, from which the priest gives the sacramental blessing with the monstrance.

These pointed chapels were located in all four directions and were originally always near the four former gates. The pointed chapels from the 18th century with roofs house late Gothic sandstone shrines from the 15th century. A crucifixion scene is usually depicted on the front of these shrines and figures of saints can be seen at the back and on the sides. The pointed chapels are still looked after and decorated with flowers today, especially on the Sunday after Corpus Christi, when they serve as stations for prayers for a good harvest and blessings during the procession around the fields.
