Riding through Arundel town you'll be treated to spectacular views of Arundel Castle, which is set in magnificent gardens on a hill, looming high above the town like some giant sentinel.
There has been a castle here for 1,000 years and and if you have time it's well worth exploring the grounds and well-preserved interior. From further along the route you may be able to see its turrets poking through the mist – it really looks like something out of a fairytale!

The story of Arundel castle begins in 1067 and continues to the present day. Many of the original features such as the Norman Keep, medieval Gatehouse and Barbican survive.
Between the 1870s and 1890s the house was almost completely rebuilt and the magnificent architecture in Gothic style is considered to be one of the great works of Victorian England.
