Huis Van Alijn: Museum of everyday life. The collection sheds light on everyday life in the 20th century.
From October to May, the puppet theater with Pierke van Alijn provides weekly adventures on Saturdays in the museum attic. During a performance (about 1.5 hours), Pierke and his friends experience exciting adventures. The puppet theater is suitable for children from the age of three. During the autumn, Christmas, spring break and Easter holidays, Pierke will also be present on Wednesdays. During the Ghent Festivities, there is a performance in the courtyard garden for 9 days.

The museum, Huis van Alijn in Ghent, puts the ordinary everyday life of 20th-century mortals "in the spotlight". This was once the "Children of Alijn" hospital. The only preserved Ghent almshouse, a charity where the poor, the sick and the elderly were cared for.
Traditions and rituals belong to the past and present. Daily and special events determine the rhythm in the flow of your life. In the Huis van Alijn museum, you can enjoy customs, traditions and rituals that remind you of a recent or more distant past during your weekend in Ghent.
