The Pasha Hamam in Skopje was a real hammam, in other words Turkish bath, and dates from the time when the Turks still ruled here. Originally from the 15th century, it is reminiscent of the Ottoman period in North Macedonia. Today, instead of the hammam, a national gallery with works of art from the 19th century is operated here for the city. The beautifully impressive architecture of the hammam and the gallery, a congenial solution.

The Daut-Pascha-Hamam (bathhouse) is located north-east of the stone bridge and was built by the Grand Vizier of Eastern Rumelia, Daut Pascha, from 1489 to 1497, with gender-separated use being intended. The building has 13 domes. The two largest domes house the two dressing rooms and some fountains. The smaller domes cover the different bathrooms. Today the building houses the National Art Gallery, which has a large collection from the 18th and 19th centuries.
