The grooves present on the Dolmen Placa (located a few meters in the direction of Calimera) and the small hole in the center of the covering slab of the Dolmen Gurgulante immediately make one think of a place dedicated to ritual sacrifices, rather than a burial place as often it has been hypothesized.
