The town hall stands in the center with the beautiful fountain in front of it. Inside, the old castle and the Middle Ages around Rastenberg are represented by wall paintings.

The town hall was built in 1565, but it burned down next to many residential and farm buildings in the chaos of the 30 Years War (1618-1648) in 1637.

At that time, the buildings were still thatched, so fires could develop in a very short time.

In the same year it was rebuilt in the same place. The cellar vault and the central building are among the oldest parts of the building.

Inside the town hall you can admire beautiful paintings on the walls.
