National Monument. Particular small church with a quadrilobite plan. Very special, it deserves a visit given its unique shape and excellent conservation (restored 2012).

It is a small building about 1 km outside the town. The construction probably dates back to the 12th century. The main feature of the church is its quadrilobate plan with a central hemispherical dome enclosed in an octagonal lantern, on which there is a lantern. The interiors, in the past frescoed, are now stripped of any decoration and allow a better understanding of the harmony of the volumes.

Recent research and studies show instead that it has been ascertained that Santa Caterina d'Alessandria was much venerated by the Knights Templar, so much so that among the most recurrent toponyms, chosen by the Knights of the Temple for the naming of the ex novo constructions they built, there is often Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. The Church represents the location where the Templars received the blessing before embarking by sea for the Holy Land. This was also able to decipher thanks to the symbolism (square, octagon, circle) that emerged thanks to the recent restorations (2011)
