The memorial commemorates the establishment of the German Empire in 1871 as well as the victims of the German War of 1866 from Radeberg and the fallen in the Franco-German War in 1870/71. The memorial was first unveiled in 1879 and is a listed building.

As a memorial to the many dead, such memorials or war memorials are still very important today. "Now, Lord, let your servant go in peace, as you said." However, the people who are commemorated here did not divorce in peace, but became victims of war and tyranny.
Many of the places and monuments that you come across along the way are evidence of the horrors of war and tyranny, which is still relevant and relevant today. They all have two essential functions, and this for each new generation:
-1- Commemorate and remember the victims
-2- Remind to keep the peace

The war memorial on the corner of Badstrasse and Dr.-Rudolf-Friedrichs-Strasse in the Saxon town of Radeberg commemorates the founding of the German Reich in 1871 and the victims of the German War of 1866 and the fallen of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 who came from Radeberg. The memorial was first unveiled in 1879 and is a listed building.
