The Perlenbach or the Perlenbachtal is a beautiful hiking area in every season. You have the choice, either in the direction of Schwalm (Belgian military area) or in Rchtg. Perlenbachtalsperre. Both beautiful landscapes, with the favorite clearly in Rchtg. Schwalm lies. Nature trails with dream panoramas from the Bieley. When hiking in the direction of Bieley, it is advisable to call the Bütgenbach municipality beforehand. This can provide information as to whether a block is currently in place.

The "Perlenbach" stream received its name in ancient times due to the freshwater pearl mussels found here. The presence of these mussels has been documented since the 14th century. Pearl fishing was conducted by Count Palatine Phillip Wilhelm since 1668 under the care of the Duke of Jülich.
