the Peter and Paul Fortress (Russian Петропавловская крепость / Petropawlowskaja krepost) is a fortress from the early 18th century, which is the origin and historical center of the city of Saint Petersburg. The complex, located on Rabbit Island in the Neva, today mainly houses exhibitions and museums and is both a tourist magnet and a place to relax for St. Petersburg residents. The fortress is a central part of the Historic Center of Saint Petersburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

a must on foot! amazing view.

The Troitski Bridge (Russian Троицкий мост Troitski most, "Trinity Bridge") crosses the Neva in Saint Petersburg. During the Soviet Union it was called the Kirov Bridge (the Communist Party functionary lived from 1886 to 1934). It connects the Field of Mars with Troitsky Square on the Petrograd side.

The Pulkowo meridian runs along the axis of the bridge.
