During the Cold War, Stevnsfort was an important part of the defense line for Denmark and NATO. Had war broken out between East and West, Stevns would have been at the forefront.
A guided tour offers a visit to the underground passages where Denmark and NATO patrolled for 40 years.

Very interesting museum about the cold war and especially the millitary technology of that time. It has a lot of original stuff.
I can highly recommend taking the guided tour through the fortress. It is worth every penny.
In our case the guide did the tour in english. He told us that he adapts the language to the people taking the tour.
Additionaly there is an app available that also gives you background information. I would recommend bringing headphones.
