One of the most beautiful vantage points imaginable. A fantastic view of the city at the mouth of the Rio Lima, especially from the vantage point on the basilica.

You can get to the mountain of Santa Luzia by taking a cogwheel train (elevator), by car or by stairs. From this place you can see a considerable section of the Lima Valley and a large part of the sea coast, north and south of the river delta and the green mountains. This panorama was named the third most beautiful in the world by National Geographic Magazine.

Yürüyüş

Starting from the Pousada Viana do Castelo, the path first went down to the Santuário de Santa Luzia, and then hiked around the mountain on the old water pipe. Great views at various points make up for the sometimes steep descents and ascents. Overall a very nice and worthwhile tour.
