The sacred building was probably built from field stones at the end of the 14th or beginning of the 15th century. So far it has not been possible to find out whether the church belonged to the Diocese of Brandenburg or the Diocese of Meißen at that time.

Best starting point for the hike: From the village Schenkendorf it goes directly into the countryside. For this trail you need max. 1.5 hours time (3.4 km). Follow the waymark here: Green dot on white surface. The village church Schenkendorf is about 700 years old. Originally it was built as a fortified church from Feldsteinen. But around 1663, the church received its present appearance. From the outside rather inconspicuous, the church offers impressive paintings inside.
