A cross-border nature reserve where you walk or cycle through a mosaic of peat, heath, deciduous forest and quiet fens. Old sandy paths meander along oak avenues and swamp forest, with surprising views along the way and a chance of rare species such as the tree frog.

The Witte Venn is located in Germany and the Netherlands on both sides of the border. Due to the unique location of the area, special habitats could develop here, as they are almost unique in today's North Rhine-Westphalia. These include bog waters with swinging turf as well as bog forests and heaths with plant species that have become rare.
