The small village, which later even had its own town hall, developed from 1516 on to a horse breeding of the Counts of Leiningen built Stüterhaus with a mare and foal farm. Later, a hunting lodge was built there for the hunting enthusiast Leininger counts.

PWV-Ritterstein Leiningen stud farm with ruins from the 15th to 18th centuries. Century The knight stone shows the place where there used to be a small village. It developed into the breeding of the Earls of Leiningen, and there was also a hunting lodge for the Earls nearby.

One of the Palatinate Forest Association's more than 300 knight's stones stands here and points to an earlier settlement (approx. 1516 to 1818).
There are still remains of ruins near the Ritterstein and further along the way (see other KOMOOT highlights).
