At the promontory where the Soeste, the Nordloher Tief and the Barßeler Tief meet, the Schnappenburg stood around 1300. From here the Tecklenburgers protected and supervised the trade of the ships that went up the Ammerland and to Barßel.
If it is dry or the ground is frozen, you can penetrate a bit into the thicket on the headland. But it is also enough to look at the normally accessible part of the beautiful loop of the northern low lows.
