In mid-July 2021, parts of Western and Central Europe experienced extensive, heavy, continuous rain. Many streams and rivers burst their banks there. On July 15, 2021, the Eifel-Rur water association therefore increased the amount of water flowing into the Heimbach reservoir from 50 to 80 m³ per second (+ 60%). Despite this measure, the overflow of the dam via the spillway could not be prevented.

Views of the Rursee are always beautiful.
What I noticed on my tours: it is not a given that you can get a glimpse of it when walking around a lake, so the tour around the Rursee is something special.
