After the early death of his father, Würth took over the then still young company in 1954 at the age of 19 - and became the breadwinner of the family overnight. At that time he still drove the handcart to customers to sell screws. Last year, the group with 66,000 employees turned over more than ten billion euros.
Würth is a very important patron of the arts.
