The Eider valley between Schulensee and Bordesholm is an important natural heritage site that has been renaturalized through targeted conservation measures such as extensive grazing and the cessation of water maintenance. As a result, wet meadows, fens and natural river courses have spread again, which benefits rare species such as the marsh harrier, the moor frog and various bats. A network of hiking trails allows visitors to experience the impressive landscape and its biodiversity up close.
