The chapel is located at the entrance to the palud, an expanse of short grass that goes all the way to the sea, which no road crossed until around 1950. A path leads to an evocation of the alignments of Lestriguiou, located 300 meters northeast of the chapel.

Built from the twelfth to the sixteenth century on the site of an old leper colony, it was first placed under the patronage of St. Stephen, before being dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene on the occasion of its expansion in the sixteenth century.

Die Kapelle wurde im 12. bis 16. Jahrhundert am Ort eines ehemaligen Leprosoriums erbaut. Ursprünglich war der Hl. Stefan der Schutzpatron, erst nach der Erweiterung im 16. Jahrhundert würde sie Maria Magdalena geweiht.

The western parts of the Ste-Marie-Madeleine chapel date back to the 12th century and were dedicated to the holy archmartyr Stephen. The nave is dated to 1416. At the beginning of the 16th century there was an expansion to the east in the Flamboyant Gothic style and the patronage changed to St. Mary Magdalene. At that time the chapel was the place of worship for a leprosy. Construction evidence suggests that the chapel was divided into two parts to isolate the priests from the lepers.
