Yürüyüş
A beautifully carved bench that invites you to linger. The goat with the carrot - the landmark of Stadtroda is very easy to recognize and everyone who is new to Stadtroda will be wondering what it is all about. Research and a tour through the tranquil town of Stadtroda are worthwhile to learn the history. 😊

The legend of Rod's carrot:
daten2.verwaltungsportal.de/instrumente/seitengenerator/5036bc2a2ab98ed2883c2673b9975ea769963/die_sage_von_der_rod.pdf
In 1450 a dispute between the provost of Klosterroda and the town council is said to have broken out over the feasibility of building. The provost called Count Heinrich zu Gera for help. And when he advanced with his army, the gatekeeper could not find the bolt. Instead, he stuck a large carrot into the loop of the gate - but since this carrot was eaten by his goat, the troops were able to enter the city unhindered.
Since then, the inhabitants have borne the nickname "carrot scraper".
