The chimney is one of several climbing spots on the alpine hiking trail (T5) between Widderalpsattel and Hundstein. Climbing difficulty level II.
It has a lot of loose rock. Hikers should be warned if stones are rolling. Especially because most of them don't wear a helmet. The path should be better left when wet.
When climbing up, make sure that you don't miss the alpine hiking trail that suddenly turns left.

The entrance to the chimney is already very exposed in the lower part and has to be climbed quite far outside on the edge. The markings are not always easy to see. A helmet is also recommended, as the rock is not well solid everywhere and you often come across loose gravel. Further up, a chain helps to master a rock upswing. This is also quite difficult and only recommended in dry conditions.
