Large in size (87 meters), large in its history (it has resisted wars and epidemics for centuries), and large in what it releases. The only baroque style belfry in Belgium, recognized by UNESCO since 1999, it is a remarkable architectural vestige.

It is also a museum, accessible from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Belfry of Mons is a historic belfry in the Hainaut city of Mons.
It is one of 56 belfries in Belgium and France that have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It was built under the architect Louis Ledoux, who directed the works from 1662 until his death in 1667. The work was completed in 1669 by Vincent Anthony as the architect. It is the only Belgian baroque belfry. The belfry is 87 meters high and contains a carillon with 49 bells.

The Belfry of Mons was the zero point for the mining maps of Belgium.

The Belfry of Mons has been recognized by UNESCO since 1999 and occupies an emblematic place in the landscape of Mons.
As the only baroque-style belfry in Belgium, it is a remarkable architectural relic.

Inside the belfry is an interpretation center on its history and its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The permanent exhibition is alive thanks to innovative multimedia tools such as 'les fenetres du temps' (the windows on time) but also because of the many objects from local collections.

From the belfry you have a magnificent view over the city.
