The view north from this section of Castle Road is a nice change from most other views of Dartmouth. The Castle headland curves east to One Gun Point and this means that you can look north up the Dart Estuary to the main town of Dartmouth. You can also look across the water towards Kingswear. It's a great place to watch and bigger boats entering the harbour.

Gallants Bower is a civil war fort. The 1000 royalist occupants secured terms here rather than fought.
